Summer Movie Night

Free Outdoor Movie on the Plaza at Westpost: Inside Out 2

October 2 | 8 PM

Looking for a fun way to spend your autumn evening? Look no further than outdoor Movies On The Plaza at Westpost at National Landing! Bring your blankets and chairs and settle in for a night of entertainment under the stars.

And while you’re enjoying the show, support the local restaurants by ordering food and drinks. There is a great selection of delicious eats and refreshing beverages available. Try ordering ahead!

Best of all, this event is completely free to attend! So grab your friends and family and come on down to the plaza for a night of fun and entertainment.

Rosslyn Fall Fest

October 5 | 1-6 PM

Celebrate the start of autumn with the Rosslyn BID at Fall Fest on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 1-6 p.m.! Join us at Gateway Park for an afternoon of fall-favorite activities for all ages to help welcome the season of crisp air and colorful leaves.

We'll have live music by Jessica Allossery and Rock Creek Kings, food trucks, hard cider and seasonal beer tastings, and more fall fun! Plus our highly-anticipated pie eating contest will be back, which you can register for on-site. Pies will be provided by our friends at Open Road, and participation is first-come, first served. 

For those interested in cider and brew tastings (21+), tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. The first 100 tasting participants to arrive will receive free popcorn from Open Road!

Basic entry (excluding tastings) is free - just select "general admission" when ordering a ticket. 

Be sure to bring a valid ID, as they will be checked upon entry. Tasting participants must be 21+, but all ages are welcome to enjoy the live music and other fall festivities.

Festive Donuts

Leaves in Nature Fall Walk

October 7 | 10 AM - 12 PM

On this nature walk with Certified Master Naturalists Stephanie Martin and Caroline Haynes, we will talk about the life cycle of trees: how and why leaves change colors in the fall. We will walk on trails, largely paved with some up-and-down, and look at the variety of flora and fauna in Lubber Run Community Center. In the event of bad weather, this program will be canceled or rescheduled.

Wellness Wednesday: Paint and Sip

October 9 | 12-1 PM

Please join us at Glencarlyn Library for Wellness Wednesday's: we will gather at the Library for an hour of relaxation and socializing. On the second Wednesday of each month we will have a calming craft or activity, delicious snacks, and neighborhood socializing.

This month we will host a paint & sip, with a library staff member leading a Bob Ross style painting class while we sip on Shirley Temples. All materials for this event will be provided.

Comedy Karaoke Trivia Funtime Show at Highline RXR

October 12 | 7:30 PM

GET READY FOR A ONE-OF-A-KIND EVENT!

THE COMEDY KARAOKE TRIVIA FUNTIME SHOW IS A UNIQUE BLEND OF ENTERTAINMENT HOSTED BY CHRISTIAN HUNT.

BRING A TEAM OR FLY SOLO AND WIN PRIZES BY DROPPING KNOWLEDGE IN A TRIVIA COMPETITION AND THEN DUKING IT OUT IN A KARAOKE BATTLE.

3. AND FINALLY, THE TOP THREE TEAMS IN THE TRIVIA STANDINGS SEND UP ONE PLAYER EACH FOR A KARAOKE BATTLE, AND THE AUDIENCE DETERMINES THE WINNER

Ruff the Runway at Snouts n Stouts

October 14 | 4 PM

Get ready to unleash the fun! Jane Franklin Dance is thrilled to announce Ruff the Runway, a paw-some event that will have tails wagging and fashionistas howling with delight. Join us on October 14, 2024, at Snouts & Stouts Indoor Dog Park and Bar for a fabulous dog fashion show and fundraiser you won’t want to miss. 

Strut your mutt down the runway and compete for fantastic prizes, including gift certificates to Seamore’s Sustainable Seafood, doggie toys and treats, bottles of bubbly, and more! Whether your pooch is polished, pampered, or just plain adorable, this is their time to shine! No mutt to strut? No worries! You’ll also get to see repertory excerpts performed by JFD company members to usher in the new 2024-25 Season! All are encouraged to attend.

Learn the history of National Black Poetry Day and how Black poetry resonates in Arlington County and be inspired by readings and a Q&A with local Black poets. 

NOVA Treasure Hunt (on bikes) 

October 19-20 

Phoenix Bikes is back with another fun-filled edition of the NOVA Treasure Hunt! In this fifth year of the Treasure Hunt, riders will be taken on a delightful adventure around NOVA to discover some of our community's hidden historical gems and favorite restaurants.

Led by a "treasure map," participants can choose their own adventure or select a pre-planned family-friendly route to help them navigate. At each stop, riders will discover a secret word to help them unlock the cool history behind that location—and, if the stop is also a restaurant, they'll get to taste a delicious treat for free. We're excited to help riders find new favorite hidden gems and eateries!

The ride has been designed to be flexible, so it can be done alone or with family, over an afternoon or throughout the weekend. It’s all about having fun and celebrating local spots that make NOVA our vibrant community!

There you will find all the goodies you want from handmade items, sweet treats, art, and so much more. The market is sponsored by the Mason Square Campus and Mason Dining in collaboration with Arlington Economic Development. Don’t miss out, there will be something for everyone!

October 25 | 6-10 PM

Join us for an unforgettable evening of unity, celebration, and empowerment at Pride on the Plaza! This event is not just a celebration, but a declaration of our commitment to equality and diversity.
