Ambar Cooking Class

We had a blast with the Executive Chefs at Ambar learning how to cook their signature dish, Sarma, and enjoying a Balkan beer while learning more about the Balkan culture! Attendees were introduced to the head chefs and learned about the history of Balkan cuisine, the story behind their restaurant and then an in-depth cooking lesson. The event took place in Ambar's sister restaurant, BABA, located downstairs.

Sarma (pictured below) is one of Ambar's most popular dishes. It takes nearly 6 hours to prepare and is probably one of the most delicious dishes we have ever had. It is a dish of two small rolls of sour cabbage stuffed with potato mash, pork belly, rice and a medley of diced veggies all topped with a dollop of yogurt. The Balkan beer paired perfectly with the Sarma and attendees wished they could have more. Some even went up and made a reservation in the restaurant immediately following the class to go have the ultimate Balkan experience.

This sold out event was such a big success that we will be bringing it back so definitely look out for future events with Ambar!

Cheers!
